BenCab Museum

If you are someone who loves beautiful works of art, then you should definitely check out the BenCab Museum while you are in Baguio City. This museum is only a 15 minute drive from the center of the city and has much to offer to the aesthetically inclined. When you are at the museum, you will see a gorgeous view of the surrounding area, including the garden, farm, hill and a mini-forest, adjacently located. You will also be able to see the mountains and a view of the South China see in the distant west. The museum itself houses in several different galleries the permanent collection of the Filipino National artist, Benedict Cabrera or BenCab as he is more popularly know, who is widely hailed as a master of contemporary Philippine art. It is a great place to take your children, but keep in mind that there is some erotic art that they will be prohibited from seeing.

Check out the ambient garden, as well. You will be able to see tons of sculptures and paintings and if you get hungry you may wish to grab something to eat at Cafe Sabel, inside the museum and enjoy a gorgeous view while you dine as it overlooks the forest and the duck pond. The dishes here use ingredients that are sourced daily from BenCab’s organic farm such as its herbs and vegetables. After your snack make sure to try out BenCab’s Brew their signature coffee blend with its coffee beans also sourced fresh from the coffee tress on the farm.
